i don't necessarily mean traveling to crazy places, because that can be so expensive and unaccessible. but i always feel that exploring new hobbies, connections with new people, & visiting new spots even within a small radius makes life worthwhile. as long as you are having new experiences on any scale, you are growing and opening yourself to what life has to offer. my number one priority is always the ability to explore and learn new things about myself.

Especially as a college student. You are not confined to your campus. This is not Coraline; if you start walking the world doesn't turn all white and lead you back to where you started. Get on a bus, get on the train, get on a bike, get OFF CAMPUS. EXPLORE. TAKE PICTURES. EAVESDROP ON PEOPLE. EXPERIENCE THE WORLD. If you feel safe enough, go alone, see what versions of yourself you can find hidden within the outside world.

been feeling a little unfulfilled these past few months and decided that i'd start being more spontaneous and open to new experience (in a more mature way than i did when i was 16 and straight up threw myself in dangerous situations lol). instead of sedimenting i am joining my uni's dance club and asking the barista abt a tea that intrigued me but that i wouldn't have said anything about if i hadn't done the conscious decision to be more open to situations! she ended up suggesting to give me a taste sample. do u get it. put urself in situations. the win:loss ratio is > 1.

This is the only thing that keeps me sane at work. It's so slow right now. If anyone is wondering why I've posted like 9 times today.

I love doing collages, cuz all you really need are magazine cutouts and glue. There's a very low barrier to entry, skill-wise AND supply-wise, unlike painting. Digital collages are fun too, but I try to have less screentime by doing the paper ones. If I want to re-use pieces instead of gluing them down permanently, sometimes I'll just take a picture of the current arrangement to immortalize it, and then start over on a new composition. That way, I don't have to constantly buy new magazines to get new cutouts. This is one of my favorite ones I've done so far:

if you have a job that lets u read in ur downtime, they're a great portable option that doesn't require you to invest full focus like you would if you cracked a novel open on the clock! plus they are cheap & open you up to all sorts of niche content you wouldn't encounter otherwise :)
