Recommending the show overall because it’s probably my favorite ever, but this is a notable episode for me because it explores a core theme of the series: your family members are just people. The episode—like most in the series—has many subplots, but I care most about Claire visiting her aunt/Ruth’s sister Sarah in Topanga Canyon. At the end there’s a beautiful, silent understanding between mother and daughter during a tense, tumultuous time in their lives. There are other episodes that really get to the meat of their dynamic, but this one stays close to my heart because of its subtlety and, of course, Joni Mitchell.

My favorite ending of a soprano’s season. “Thru and thru” by Rolling Stones at the end is perfect and made me cry. When Tony blows smoke in slomo and fades to a scene of the ocean where Big Pussy’s body was just thrown.

I’ve spent so much time scrolling on this app that I’m able to discern some of your writing voices. There are a couple of you who have such a developed voice that I can guess you wrote a post before seeing the attached username.
You’re all so observant, introspective, delusional, earnest, anxious, well-rounded, hilarious and loving.
Kind of breaks my heart that I’ll likely never meet some of my favorites because we all live everywhere, but I guess that’s why we thank God for the Internet!
