varun studied journalism in college and got hired to publish the articles on the school paper site as my first job. started small with little HTML and CSS stuff for a while and built it up over time. have slowly acquired more skills at different jobs and landed my first full-time dev role about eight years later. i think the key is just to get hands on with it and build real stuff even if it's basic. tutorials are too isolated and the real skill devs need is being able to problem solve even if they don't have experience with the exact issue at hand.
also, yeah! definitely recommend. get to work from home and hang out with my wife and pets all day. pay is good and you're mostly left alone to just get your shit done.
