I was very closing to landing a new job and all i could think about was subbing to this and LRB once i got thr the raise. I ultimately didn't get hired but it's high on my list if i ever get a raise
Spending the💰guilts me into getting through them. It’s nice to get something fun in the mail and support writers. I subscribe to The Baffler and The Drift and The New York Review of Books refuses to stop coming to my house. Would love to learn what other folks are subscribing to but I will say that I personally think the New Yorker allows articles to go on for too long.
A subscription I end up keeping because I’ll always end up reading all of their various publications (Vulture, the Cut, Gub Street). My parents kept a subscription and I’ve read it forever. I’m not local to New York but something about it feels chic, metropolitan. I bought a sweatshirt they had during a subscriber sale almost solely because it felt like something Carrie Bradshaw would have.
