we have him to thank for Neal's Yard Dairy, Borough Market (and farmer's markets in the UK in general), Monmouth Coffee, and popularising Greek yoghurt (apparently before the 70s/80s we couldn't buy it in supermarkets). thank you Nicholas Saunders and god bless, glad i'm not living off mashed potato and boiled veg like my Scottish & Irish forebears and can instead enjoy cappuccinos and comtΓ©.
also this article is just an interesting look at how 'hippy' culture spawned so many of the big capitalist health food fads we know & love today - the story of Nicholas Saunders is comparable to the story of Erewhon, for example.

Film Forum is the OG but Metrograph is younger and hungrier, with a more diverse slate of films and an emphasis on rediscovered or neglected classics. Great atmosphere too, with a restaurant and bookstore. you can’t go wrong!

i love how tiny and weird it is also $5 for a movie!?!? you can't beat it. i have only been a handful of times but i love what ive seen there, always feels very rare
