i’ve always felt so comfortable being loud and being seen and being the center of attention. but damn... shutting up and genuinely listening to what everyone around you has to say is really awesome. you learn so much about who people truly are, rather than who they tell you they are.

my favorite part about being in a group setting is when people are talking about subjects you have little to no information about and having the chance to observe and absorb.
old me would have felt insecure in this situation but i've learned that shutting up and being "clueless" is kinda fun lol.

😃I‘ve been thinking about how listening and paying attention to people is such a beautiful way to make them feel heard, thus connecting you two even deeper. When I tell someone something and they remember it, it makes me feel important, loved, noticed, special, etc. and I‘ve really been focusing on doing the same with everyone in my life. Even when it comes to gifts or plans too like if someone bases these things on what I’ve mentioned I want, it makes it that much more meaningful

👂absolutely nothing sexier or more caring than deciding to give someone your rapt and undivided attention in a world full of distracting bright flashing things where everyone at any given moment is consuming two or three things at once. plus the feeling of someone remembering something minor you said super offhandedly (like a childhood anecdote or a snack you were craving) and bringing it up in conversation again days later makes you feel so seen and understood, literally the loveliest feeling ever.
