sooo I literally just started caring about perfume this month I am not going to pretend to know a lot about it or engage with all of That but I do know that I really like this like $30 grey market online purchase, it makes me feel like a different person. A person who only wears black and olive drab. a eunuch funeral director but slay. SHE maketh me to lie down in green pastures…

Obsessed with perfume. For a while I was searching for a signature scent, but then the hunt just became too much fun, and now I’ve ended up with a full on vanity tray in my bathroom piled with a different smell for every mood. I used to wear only China Rain, a rollerball scent my mom got me in high school from a perfumery in LA called Spiritbody. I still have a bottle of that, but when I wear it I’m transported to a more insecure time lol. Right now I love Shadow in the Water from Diptyque for when I want to smell clean and romantic. I wear Smudge by Heretic almost every day because it’s colder out and it makes me feel so warm and cozy, like i’ve been sitting by a fire all day, and like I give good advice and paint landscapes. Perfume is definitely a splurge, but it lasts for so long, and I think it’s really special to have a beautiful scent that people can recognize you by. I am going to gatekeep my secret combination of Byredo perfumes that I wear constantly, and I’m sorry about that. It’s just too good and too me.

Give this one a try. It’s really good. It smells like a forest after rain. I bought it for about 40$ a couple of years ago and loved it. It’s super affordable for this type of perfume.

As you get older, nothing makes you feel more confident than dousing yourself in perfume to mask the stench of mortality. Granted I’m new to this and not an expert on fragrances, let alone “notes” and whatnot. But since newsletters are all about advising you on how to creatively spend your money, I’ll do my part and point you in the right direction. My go-to rotation at the moment is Serge Lutens Fille de Berlin, Olympic Orchids Ballets Rouges, and TRNP Bulgakov (Limited Edition *not* OG), which the manufacturer describes as smelling like “faded opulence.” Sometimes I like to wild out and layer them all on at once. Not everyone is blessed with healthy levels of narcissism. Perfume is a good way to stack the cards in your favor.

an old roommate found this seemingly relatively obscure grimy gay Canadian poetry book on the sidewalk in Montreal maybe 15 years ago. i wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s particularly good but it has a certain charm to it and I’m glad I have it. I like to think that he lives with a partner and some cats in Victoria, BC now or something but like probably not.. “nyc laundry day put a canadian dime in th slot get three bags of soap and fuck th machine for good” “vancouver september yur right now i know what its all about i feel yu up my ass like a hard shit at first really not much room in there and all so hard and yur mouth all over my tongue fights back down yur throat up yur ass [several more pages]”

I make this all the time, except i never have scallions around or feel like chopping onions so I leave that out. I do always have Korean pantry staples & half an English cucumber lying around though and it’s a fun, easy, and versatile side dish/bowl component. love Korean food love maangchi
