I just always carry a deck of cards with me whereever i go and when the conversation gets dry i just offer to play a round of cards.

Keeping a deck of cards on you all the time

At party with a bunch of disparate groups of people? Unite them all with a game of cards. Card tricks? I don’t know any so I’m automatically impressed. Don’t have a deck?
