I spent way too long sleeping on The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess but this song has been on heavy heavy rotation

Pretty sick, went with a friend and it was very funny. $14 Movie Theater IPAs were hitting in a fantastic way. Then we went to see the second half of the Knicks game in some dive in the Village. It was a great time, stumbled on the escalator in front of strangers. 10/10

I have another indie theater that I prefer because it’s cozier, has better vibes, is much closer to me, and everybody who works there is genuinely passionate about film. It’s not really anything special visually but it’s a beautiful institution and it’s so fun to be there ❤️ But this one is an old art deco theatre designed by architect John Eberson (he designed Loew’s Paradise in the Bronx and the Paradise Theatre in Chicago)! It’s pretty run down/poorly managed and staffed but it’s a gorgeous building and definitely worth visiting. Not my photos but included for illustrative purposes!!

I watched All of Us Strangers with alysolmstead a few weeks ago and came out of that theater haunted to my core. It was one of those movies that just leaves you speechless for days. I mean I’d also just do anything for Andrew Scott and he absolutely killed that.

Honestly I learn so much about design from just watching other people on the internet making cool stuff (youtube, tiktok, etc.) I went to school for design but I’ve picked up a lot of nifty tricks over the years from following other designers online. Just like anything else it takes time, but everyone has to start somewhere!

I feel like fun is so subjective and it’s hard to find organic ways to create it, especially when we’re all so busy and things are moving a million miles an hour- but sometimes it’s the little things that could bring joy and fun into your routine. Maybe you get together with some friends and start trying a wine a week, maybe you make take up a new epic craft hobby (just to rattle off some ideas✨) I think carving out time and finding space for things that spark joy in your life, and surrounding yourself with people that support or share those passions is super important :)
