It replaces a kettle because you only have to fill it once and it keeps water at a set boiling temperature indefinitely. The fancier ones come with extra settings for the real tea nerds who are particular about their brewing temperatures.

š§it can hold cold OR warm liquids and insulates really well! they come in multiple sizes and lids but i like 32oz because i basically have to drink two fills a day and thatās easy to remember (and i prefer spout lid bc itās easier to clean than the straw one imo). in terms of other hydration tips i like the app āwaterllamaā (lol) for reminders and tracking my water intake, & if i donāt want just āplainā water iāll also have an herbal non-caff tea or a seltzer during the day :)

old stuff in general really, before they discovered planned obsolescence. my dad gave me his old Stanley thermos from the seventies and it works and seals really well, this bad boy keeps water piping hot for a day and a half. its worth keeping an eye out for at goodwills or vintage stores!!

š£Knowing another language is awesome. It gives you a slice of omnipotence. Once you become fluent in a language, thereās no translation time in your mind- you donāt have to hear the word and go āoh this means thisā. The word just is- you hear it and it instantly registers. Itās kind of like being able to be in two places at once in your head.

š¢Beautiful little vessels of infinity! Theyāre one of those diaphanous objects in which you can find an endless number of micro-reflections and light refractions. I love watching how glass shimmers from sun rays reflecting against its rim and how it creates these translucent shadows on the surfaces around it. Itās like a way to own a piece of the rainbow! (plus they make awesome looking table settings)
