British coming of age film set in a grimy bathhouse. A cautionary tale about being obsessed with a really hot girl who’s older than you. Beautiful, unsettling and so underrated.
David Lynch said in an interview in 1982: “there's never been a colour movie I've freaked out over except one, this thing called Deep End“

“That most important thing: love” (1975) dir. Andrzej zulawski

Honestly bro I had no idea wtf was going on in ts but the wardrobe was A1 and scene locations were mad cool. It also is the same dude who did Possession, ik a lot of you mfs on this app like that one. Starring Romy Schneider of “La Piscine” fame, also features a sleazed out performance by Klaus Kinski, it’s ab a photographer who likes some actress but her sherm bf is unhinged and manipulating her idk I got tired of reading subtitles. Overall it‘s a great movie to watch if you want to take a picture of ur screen to throw on ur IG story to make ppl think ur mad esoteric and knowledgeable ab late 20th century European cinema.

Zabriskie point (1970)

Michelangelo Antonioni’s ‘Zabriskie Point’ is an absolute masterpiece in my opinion.
A critique of america, the american dream and capitalism through the eyes of youth counterculture with stunning visuals and an amazing score that includes Pink Floyd and The Rolling Stones.
It isn’t a film for everyone, but it’s a masterpiece.

Writing down your dreams right when you open your eyes in the morning

Sue me, I love David Lynch. He loves dreams. He said, “The nervous system functions in a fourth, unique way, as different as dreaming is from sleeping as sleeping is from waking. When you transcend, it's the only experience that lights the full brain on an EEG machine. It's the only experience that utilizes the full brain.” Anytime I have a dream that stays with me when I wake up, I grab my phone and write it down in my notes. Here’s a snippet from a recent one, “I had to put on a gown in the tiniest bathroom. A famous actress grabs my hand and we run to a huge empty room with carpet everywhere. Rolling around on the floor laughing and then she’s crying to me telling me really sad things that are going on in her life. I really wanted to take a picture of the tears on her face but felt like i couldn’t.

The town of Siwa, Egypt

I visited Egypt last year in March for the first time with my good friend, Rafik, who grew up in Cairo. A group of 5 of us traveled to the small oasis town of Siwa, which was an 8 hour escapade through the desert in a van, down one road where we got stopped at 6 military checkpoints. They look at your passport and inside your bags, and let you keep going. Siwa is the most magical place I’ve ever been to – the story of Aladdin was supposedly written there, the landscape is straight out of National Geographic, and the people are the sweetest, most chaste souls. We spent 4 days there - I didn’t use the internet once, everyday we went on an adventure somewhere in nature, I woke up every morning at 6am and I ate the best food from a garden.

Playing ‘What Are The Odds’ at parties where you don’t know many people

Anyone who really knows me knows that I love to play games. This one, what are the odds, is one of my go-to’s, especially when you’re in a space where there are alot of strangers and no one’s really doing anything except drink expensive martinis or cheap dive bar beer. We usually play with odds from 1-10, higher risk to dare your friends to do something out of the ordinary. To play, one person presents the ‘dare’ for example, ‘What are the odds you go up to that guy in the fedora and ask if you can try his hat on?’ Then, on the count of 3, both parties say a number between 1 and 10. If they say the same number, then the dare must be done. The game proceeds and the fun keeps your night exciting til you can’t do it anymore, you usually walk away with some new friends or at least some good stories.
