The song has a cold, slow, melancholic sound—those guitars and the atmosphere create a sense of a memory that crumbles right in your head, like something beautiful but now out of reach. The song slowly settles inside you and stays there.
Personally, this song really struck a chord with me because it resonates with similar feelings I’ve experienced: after a relationship where you’ve been dumped, you’re still emotionally clinging to the person, to the very hope that things could have been different.
Especially these lines:
“When I'm ready, you're not ready”
That feeling of being out of sync. When one person finally realises the value of the connection, is ready to speak honestly, to invest, to fight and the other is already far away, has doubts, or simply can’t give the same in return.

A very frightening thought: perhaps the problem is that I’ve opened up, become too accessible, am reaching out too hard, trying too hard to save us?
