🎵WICHITA LINEMAN - GLEN CAMPBELL

this song means so much to me, i’ve always had a thing for country music, my grandpa used to spend my childhood wishing he was a cowboy, and we would watch westerns together and think about what it would be like from our australian coastal unit. :PP he would keep this old sheriff badge around, i would always see it. i grew out of cowboys eventually, as most kids usually would, but there was always this soft spot for westerns, country music and that old-fashioned american desert haze. he gave me that badge eventually, and despite it all, it just felt like a piece of old silver in my hand, i stashed it somewhere and forgot about it. ik i was stupid, don’t bully me gyahaha. one day though, a couple of years ago, i was at the lowest moment in my life so far. i was atop an old tennessee walker, parched roaming the badlands, let go to the mercy of the dry red dirt and the bleached white sun. those days dragged on and on. god’s arms crossed somewhere above that old sun that cursed me. one of those days i heard it, a tune about 4 decades older than me. now, it alone wasn’t going to lead my horse to water. i had to fasten the stirrups and canter on through, but god, when i first heard this song, it had me. it helped me remember that even though i shrugged off that star, it still stuck to me, the needle’s pin caught in my skin. i figured it all out eventually, and things worked out. :D but this song never became a relic of a dark time but instead a reminder of a victory, and the little cowpoke inside me never really got over that silly old cowboy phase. i listen to this song a lot, i don’t know how i do, but i do.. anyways i’m gonna see if i can find that badge in my wardrobe somewhere ;33
