Both of Aimee Nezhukumatathil‘s nonfiction collections are always my go-to rec for readers because she combines personal stories to science facts (animals in this one and food in Bite by Bite!) I love her poetry too but her essays are a bit more digestible for the average reader!!

One of the greatest science communicators of all time, Carson makes the case (in less than 100 pages!) for fostering a sense of wonder for the natural world in ourselves and the next generation
"Then stand very still and listen, projecting your consciousness up into the dark arch of the sky above you. Presently your ears will detect tiny wisps of sound—sharp chirps, sibilant lisps and call notes. They are the voices of bird migrants... I never hear these calls without a wave of feeling that is compounded of many emotions—a sense of lonely distances, a compassionate awareness of small lives controlled and directed by forces beyond volition or denial, a surging wonder at the sure instinct for route and direction that so far has baffled human efforts to explain it"

Maggie Lindemann has been my girl for years now and she released a new single from her new era! “One of the Ones” is leaning more towards house music than her normal punky-pop and it is such a vibe ⚡️ I’ve been chasing the high of brat summer from last year and this definitely lives up to that hype for me!
