Honestly they probably didn’t think much of it so don’t worry about it too much! But generally when someone ends a conversation with a pleasantry like “take care,” it’s good to thank them and return it in kind. You could also say something like “thanks, enjoy your Friday“ or “have a great evening/weekend” (if it’s at the end of the day) etc to demonstrate warmth, care, and reciprocity
