my lovely roommate (at the time) took this pic while we were climbing the portico of san luca in bologna. we were breaking about every 2 minutes because ive got asthma lol. it was a hard and long walk (666 individual porticoes 😮) but so undeniably worth it. the difficulty of climbing the stairs made finally getting to the top all the more cathartic. when you come around the final corner of the never ending stairway, when you’re almost to the top, a cross reveals itself sitting just beyond the final stair. the sun was setting when we were finishing our climb, and the cross was backlit so beautifully. i was so exhausted from climbing, it felt like the divine and sacred thing that was going to save me. i have never been religious. im incredibly skeptical, even fearful of faith, and i generally reject organized religion for many reasons. but when i saw that cross, and put the last of my strength into reaching it, just for a minute, i got it.

a few years ago i was driving and got a call from my parents that our dog had passed away.
im not very "religious" but i looked up and immediately saw this cross in the clouds.
strange to see clouds formed in relatively straight lines like that…it’s always stuck with me. hard to not feel a bit spiritual about it.

⛪not religious, but tbh reading the Bible or any religious scripture blows me away with how beautiful and significant everything manages to sound. my family is catholic, and we had to go to prayer for a family member's death today. did I do any of the prayers? no.. do all of them probably think I'm a weird queer emo who is going to hell? yes but some of the verses were unironically so TOUGH. made me feel like i should be sitting by a stained glass windows, writing an epic of love and tribulation with a big feather quill.

i loooooooove a cappuccino esp a vanilla cappuccino!!! whenever my roommate and her bf go out to get coffee in the am they always ask me what i want too🤭 it’s like doordash except no extra fees and the dashers are ur friends💜
