🎯We all have deep inner wisdom and knowledge that ego can at times obstruct. I’ve found that talking to myself really helps circumvent any blockages and allows me to access my intuition more directly. All you have to do is ask yourself out loud what’s on your mind and answer honestly like you’re talking to a trusted friend. I talk to myself frequently and it’s one of the most healing and forward-propelling actions I partake in.

M&S is a British grocery store that also sells clothes. There is no real American equivalent — it has an emphasis on nicer versions of groceries, but it’s not like Whole Foods or Erewhon and it’s less silly or specific than your average specialty store in the US. It was one of the first places that brought me comfort and happiness after moving to London. It still does, largely because I know I’ll like basically whatever I buy there (my favorite is their milk chocolate mini buttons, I also love a Colin the Caterpillar and the white chocolate milkshake in a bottle).
In the US, places like Target and Walmart sell groceries and clothes together, but the clothes at M&S are really nice. They sell cashmere and trench coats and when I went into the flagship on Oxford Street the other day I saw a lot of summer offerings inspired by Chemena Kamali’s Chloé. I bought way too much.

This changed my life. It makes you feel less like you’ve washed up on the shores of God knows where. Your own slippers and robe far away from home bring comfort and a little glamour — suddenly your suitcase is no longer a plastic-shelled roller bag but a trunk carrying the contents of your life. Complete with an eye mask (as decorative or functional as you need) and whatever knocks you out at night.
