numbers amaze me. there is not one thing around us that cannot be quantified.
- the dimensions of the tiles i’m standing on; - the number of threads in my tshirt; - time; - how many blades of grass i have just driven past; - the amount of steps i am taking to get somewhere;
numbers are EVERYWHERE

introduced to the concept from this veritasium video. and holy shit it was like my brain exploded before my very eyes. infinite integers in strings of digits can be 0 or negative and all this counterintuitive shit. its like doing decimal mathematics but to the left of the decimal point instead.
astounding. and they proved fermat's last thm with it?????? insane
