Not only is this beautiful Ethiopian jazz fusion, it's an act of resistance! During the Derg dictatorship of the 1970s, bands would play marathon sessions in underground clubs, playing well past the strict curfew imposed at the time. The Derg dictatorship was also ver agressive with censorship, which is why the album is all instrumental. The tapes were found and re-released in 2013 after they were found in a cassette bin. I love this album and it's story so much, please give it a go!!

Completely instrumental and improvisational jazz, blues and funk fusion. Its a cornerstone of African psychedelic rock in my opinion. I highly recommend listening to Minlbelesh and avoiding Bati Bati.

Excellent old school African psychedelic rock and jazz fusion. Also it’s completely instrumental.
