š»I got Apple Music classical recently. absolutely love it. If youāre reading this and havenāt taken the classical-pill yet, you have to give it a try. It has all the calming space out lock in effects of ambient musicā but if you care to really tune into the music itself itās astonishing how beautiful it can be. Growing up, I thought it was music for the diaperprolesā babies & senior citizens. I was so wrong. Such grace, such clarity, such overwhelming force, such tenderness, such vehement, electrifying ENERGY all expressed completely wordlessly. By a means that surpasses words. Iāve been on a huge Russians kick currently. Prokofiev, Rachmoninov, Stravinsky, Scriabin, Tvhaikovsky. Some pieces that Iāve really been enjoying recently, in no particular order:
Schumannās piano concerto in A minor performed by Marta Argerich.
Rossiniās overture from la gazza ladra
Prokofievās dance of the knights from Romeo & Juliet
Stravinskyās rite of spring
Vladikir Ashkenazyās rendition of Chopinās 15th nocturne
Iām also convinced that āSmile Sessionsā is the best pop album ever made. If anyone can provide any evidence to the contrary Iād be delighted. But in the meantime, Iāll continue listening to āThe Teenage Symphony to Godā front to back ad infinitum

šøIām in a little Glenn Branca phase right now. Sometimes his pieces are too much. This video is probably my favorite performance of his. I like the way he āconductsā the guitar orchestra like itās a dance. His convulsions are similar to kids slam dancing to hardcore; the same way his pieces are like elongated punk songs. Also heās from my hometown of Harrisburg, PA.

š»you can listen to thousands of radio stations all over the world!!! the main screen looks like google earth with green dots where stations are located and you can move around and listen/save them. there are also some unusual ones like audio noir which plays 1940s radio dramas, payphone radio where you can listen to random people's payphone messages, i found a few that play 24/7 eastern european orthodox chants etc
most of all i love going to more remote/obscure places like mauritius, kamchatka, congo, faroe islands etc and discovering their charts lol
