Some have said this is the greatest story ever told. I can see why. The Manga started in 1989 and the story is still being told today. I’m slightly obsessed with the series but started late and have a long way to catch up. RIP Miura

Manga and the 1997 anime
This goes so fucking hard. My favorite thing about Berserk is how the creator Kentaro Miura originally made it to just bring his coolest teenage boy, ultra violent, badass fantasies to life but through the story of Guts and how this character evolves we also see Miura maturing. It's a process that many young boys have got to go through and it's uncomfortable and scary and that's what Berserk is. It's horrifying and beautiful and sometimes funny and mostly heartbreaking.
*As a warning, Berserk is incredibly graphic*

⛓️My favorite manga I’ve ever read. Last summer I pulled an all-nighter and binged the entire thing in one go. Such a brutal read. Love exists in many forms and the way the manga explores this concept is so so stellar. Definitely a big inspo for me and a must read in my eyes. Whether you like shonen or not, it's undeniably great.

This is a 12 volume manga by Inio Asano. I'm not a big manga reader & consider myself highly selective. This was one of the best & most beautiful series I've ever read. A love letter to imageboard culture alongside exploration of diverse human responses to horrific circumstances that can't be understood even as they happen to you and those you love. Sympathy, empathy, pity. Aliens and teen girls trying to cope.
I believe it's getting an anime adaptation soon, which I hope will be well done and impactful. I don't know, it just really stuck with me.

Shameless plug but I actually don’t know how life would be without this. A never ending broadcast of ambient, meditation and transcendental music. I have this playing through my place all day every day at varying volumes - sometimes even when I’m watching tv it stays on as a low hum. It creates a feeling of calm and serenity as soon as I step into my home and prepares me for the world when I step out.

The first time I experienced these was on a trip to Japan many years back and ever since I’ve longed for the days I wouldn’t have to wake up on a winter morning to a cold toilet seat. That dream was made reality last year and now there’s no going back lol.
