rest in peace ozzy <3 this is the heaviest moment in music i have ever heard. black sabbath was so important to me while i was becoming a drummer. their music provides such a beautiful way to articulate anger musically. (i do not think hardcore punk does this better) bc they improvise joyfully, which is the denouement to the pain they voice. thats all. thank you

‘Gish,’ the 1991 debut, remains an underrated psychedelic classic. Billy Corgan was less Darth Vader here (these days he wears a cape onstage and is giving serious Empire vibes) and more pretentious, insecure suburban Chicago asshole who could nevertheless play the holy Jesus out of his Strat. 🎸 (There's a great video on the YouTubes about a three decade quest Billy undertook to get this yellow "Gish guitar" back after it was stolen from him backstage at a gig in Detroit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyjBDmEcKAE).
There's not a bad song on this album and the original quartet were an absolutely 🔥 live band. I remembering seeing them play at a 1000 person club in this era and they totally slayed.

My Chemical Romance’s ’Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge’ has been my go to album for a couple of weeks now. It’s honestly such a perfect punk rock album, that even the most casual fan could enjoy it, knowing the intended storyline just adds more to an already great album. I truly and honestly believe the My Chem guys are like this generation’s Beatles, they’ve pioneered so many things in the music scene and no one can truly do it like them.

just stumbled on this fella casually making some of the most beautiful guitar music ive ever heard point being that music has been around for so much longer than the idea of celebrity, and it's weird that we, for the most part, only listen to famous people's music (or even people on stages)
