finally finally finished the 2,5hr 2024 documentary surrounding jazz, softpower, and the geopolitical status of the 50s/60s. rhythmic demanding resonant. couldn't stop focusing on gillespie's iconic trumpet and cheek situation "America's secret weapon is a blue note in a minor key"

jazz has come a long way to go nowhere. this short film talks music in the way I wish we could all talk music. the word 'jazz' sweeps under the rug everything the music was, is, and ought to be (as far as one can tell from witnessing this piece of film).
