my love for surrealism has been reignited with the current state of the world. the movements goal was to look at the subconscious mind and liberate the imagination. a lot of the paintings — Matta being one of my favorites — launch the observer into a dream world. love anything that has to do with escapism. there are also so many interesting stories with andre breton — one of the founders.
Also known as The Angel of Hearth and Home, a beautiful 1937 painting by German surrealist Max Ernst. one of my favourite artists, and this painting is especially close to my heart :)
i remember when i was younger i would watch the clouds forever and always try to identify what they looked like. did that again tonight and this one looks like a hummingbird!
