😃RYM is an iconic website, but my favorite part is their genre and sub-genre list which is EXTENSIVE. I like to choose a random sub-genre then listen to all the top rated albums in said genre. Super fun way to find stuff.
Aquarium Drunkard is a great blog/radio/podcast. Their website will send you into a very beautiful rabbit hole of music you’ve likely never heard before. I found an old favorite Miki Hirayama via AD-plus the band/artist interviews are great.

💿I love this site and have found some really cool stuff this way. It hasn't been updated recently because the owner of the site got fired from Spotify but it still has a lot of awesome stuff on it. Basically it lists all the microgenres into which Spotify groups artists. You can find some really obscure and interesting ones this way.

💿i’m indebted to this music blog for exposing me to so much good stuff that’s otherwise not available on streaming or really hard to find. there’s a couple sites out there that make me feel like i’m doing some digital crate-digging and this one of them. insane collection of 70s-90s japanese music especially, but they cover a lot of obscure zones

💻I was just thinking of this recently, of how oversaturated the internet feels. There’s too many platforms, content, and ads being shoved down our throats. I don’t know where the internet is headed but I feel like there is a growing general sentiment of fatigue.We’re also discovering ways to combat this fatigue, like lessening our screentime or simplifying our use of the internet (like this platform.) I would love to see this general sentiment dictate where the internet goes instead of the internet telling us what to consume.

I suddenly thought of this movie because Brazil (the song) started playing. I wouldn’t even know how to begin describing this and anyway it’s better to jump in without knowing too much about it, which is exactly how I watched this.
