she‘s funnier than most actual comedians and reviews books (usually bad fantasy romances), movies, BookTok scandals, etc. I can always count on Cindy for a good laugh and solid recommendations for what NOT to read.
I’ve inserted a page of Chris Rock’s “Rock This!” as a prime example of why these books need to be seen. Whoever let Chris Rock publish a 200 page book in 1997 is going to heaven. I also love Bossypants by Tina Fey!
Matthew Goldin is “to put it simply… for better or worse, a compelling North American entertainer and prose stylist.” His new book “Matthew” is hilarious and a bit of an anomaly. Matthew’s twitter has been my favorite account for years (Which I’ve linked). His new book seems to be poking fun at the humorist memoir concept. It’s incredibly funny thus far. PI should have him on the editorial.
“Let’s work it out on the remix.” what other remix is so self aware and literally took years of niche cultural development to create one of the most profound commentaries on girlhood and female identity and friendship of 2024.
i might not have been an english major without it!! this film validated my love of writing in such a profound way and sends such an important message about the power of dreams and artistry. “carpe diem” is my mantra because of this movie!!
