💆Okay, so I fell into the tik tok trap of trying to look like a teenager for as long as possible, and I told my dermatologist to prescribe me retinol. I used it, like three nights a week, and then got so obsessed with the false belief I had in my head that it was making me like a doll, I was using it almost night...yikes. But THEN, I went to a facialist and the second I walked in she was like ….”you’re using retinol, aren’t you?” and she told me it was irritating my skin and that I should stop immediately. She told me to stop with all the serums, the at home peels, the 200$ lotion, and instead wash my face with Klorane’s micellar blue cornflower water…random lol. And to use Avene’s Cicalfate+ cream by pressing it, not rubbing it, into my face over and over again. I’ve never had a more minimal skincare regime in my life, of course I still use SPF every morning, but stripping back on all the glamorous goops has seriously improved my skin texture and my overall vibe. Also, I’m saving so much money because I’m literally addicted to buying skincare, and now I feel like I’m not allowed to, and I have a weird religious school instilled thing where I don’t really do things i’m “not allowed” to do lol. More on that in my next album.

🛀I am certifiably lazy with skin care, I will only stick with a routine if it’s 3 steps tops. Here it is:
First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads. I believe jennie recommended a while back and I’ve used them ever since!
Costco Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence. It’s true, it’s great. I’ve used it for years and it doesn’t clog my pores which most moisturizers do.
CeraVe moisturizing tinted sunscreen. I don’t wear make up so this gives me just a bit of color while also doubling as my sunscreen.
For face wash, I keep CeraVe in my shower and use that. For nightly, I use Zinc Therapy cleanser because ya girl has psoriasis that flares up with hormonal changes and the cold. If I’m not struggling with that I’ll just use the CeraVe.
Eventually I will add a retinoid when I am done breastfeeding.

idk how i came across this in my daily wikipedia surfs, but something about this painting just amuses me so much.
my first impression was this looks fairly modern in a way, possibly because of the composition and how she made her features so light and bouncy. it oddly made me think of disney when i looked for longer. then i see it was made in 1909 😂
this painting can transcend times and i wouldn’t truly know when it was made unless i looked more closely at the objects around the subject. but even that can be a stretch as vintage items can be popular amongst anyone and they can just have their vanity setup look like this.
i tried looking for photographs of her online but alas nothing came up with certainty.

i saw something on here a day ago about how fireflies are disappearing and lightly catastrophized the scenario. but then as i regulated myself i looked up an article lightly extinguishing my concerns.
so as i look at the copious little flickers out my window, ill be glad to tell you that while firefly populations are decreasing, some firefly species are adapting to new environments trying to prosper and evolve. big causes for their decline are obvi climate change, urbanization, and light pollution. a simple way for you to not make things bad for the fireflies in your area is to not use pesticides on your lawns if you have them. they spend most of their lives in the ground so it starts at the soil.
additionally, every article i see with the salacious title about “last generation to see fireflies“ seems to be blocking out a lot of things about current firefly populations. most of the fireflies on the IUCN red list they keep mentioning are marked vulnerable or least concern. so there is a possibility a species or more of fireflies may disappear, but all of them i don’t think so.
