This was recc'd somewhere, I totally forget where - but I love updating this every week and I get to highlight some PI poets and my coworkers really enjoy it

it’s endearing to me when older people at work or in life put little text graphics and inspirational quotes in their email signature. Especially when they’re blue or pink or turquoise. Throw in some comic sans, a low res image, do you girl

I think we tend to romanticize letters a lot, and for good reason, but this often comes at the expense of devaluating emails so I just wanted to share my love for emailing.
I send a lot of emails at work and I tend to enjoy it. I like how ridiculous office lingo is, I like designing my special signature at the end of my emails because it makes me feel creative and important. I like sending a long and thoughtful email to my friends or my professors in university, like you would do with a letter but without having to pay for stamps, wait forever for it to arrive, or having to worry if it will get lost. I also like that it’s not as instantaneous as texting, but just enough for it to feel timely. Also because it’s not suuuper instantaneous, it kinda feels more intimate, or like a rare pleasure.
I like sending emails to my friends. Email pen-palls rock. Send more thoughtful emails :)

I feel like this is a classic for a reason. It feels super flexible. It can be great for formal situations but also can be fine for a casual email. I will switch out with a few others for more casual emails but my auto-fill signature will always be this.
Sincerely,
Sharktits

here are some things I've done in my 20s that were a blast: - learned to fly a kite (flying a kite as an adult is the best - i recc doing it at the beach if you can manage it, more wind there) - recreating one of the showstopper bakes from the Great British Bake Off (it absolutely sucked but was really fun haha who knew baking was an exact science?) - bought some blank white shelves and invited all my friends over to paint them - attend a workshop at the library (i went to one that taught me how to pickle vegetables!) - make a perfect summer playlist, burn it on CDs, give it out to friends - make a different kind of lemonade/iced tea every week (i really looked forward to opening my fridge every day when I was doing this) - buy a book of poetry and spend so so so long going through the pages and illustrating the poem in the margins (or doodle whatever) - find a local pizzeria/bar that does open mics and go listen to the performers with some friends (why not? pizza? music? and lots to talk about!) - make shaved ice at home! (or home made ice cream if you're feeling particularly bold) - go listen to your municipal band play at the park - figure out whats in season in your region produce wise and challenge yourself to make dinner just from what you can find at a farmers market or something
h.a.g.s. xoxo
