i saw someone on insta make this and for me itâs very simple to do. just get the vegetables and meats you want and boil it with water, mentsuyu, and a bit of sake.
my routine is to shabu shabu my thin sliced meat first, leave it on the side, then fry firm tofu on both sides with sesame oil. after that pour just about 1 1/3 of water in the pan, followed by about 2 tbsp of mentsuyu, a tbsp of sake, then add your other bits to cook. for me thatâs enoki/woodear mushrooms, cabbage, lotus root, a few carrots slices, shirataki/konnyaku, chikuwa/kamaboko, the like. Then before youâre done place the thin sliced meat and other things that cook fast in last. then i eat it piece by piece with wasabi, yuzu kosho, and some sesame dressing on the side
