Ok so to start I saw Benedict cumberpatch was in it and not like excited about that but he did good so ig I can’t say anything LOL now for the actual review:
This was NOT what I expected, but like in a great way. I thought this was going to be one following detectives and police and idk just like other crime shows but it was much cooler.
It follows Vincent, the creator/a pupeteer in a children’s show who is also a shitty dude and shitty father, makes everyone miserable, but it seems like his son still looks up to him. But his home life isn’t great, his parents have loud arguments where things get thrown, his dad has a bad attitude towards him, etc. One day Vincint is asked to walk his 9 year old son to school, but he doesn’t and he goes missing. In a New York prior to cell phones, the story takes place in a time where we still see cases of racism, homophobia, corruption, and a large homeless population rumored to be hiding underground. Regretting his choices but still not getting along with his wife, the perspective changes between multiple characters and their search to find Edgar. Full of this regret for how he treated his son the night before and day of, we watch this father spiral, go back to his bad habits, and hallucinate the character his son has created.
There’s a lot more to it, but I’m worried my phones ab out to crash and don’t want to spoil bht it was really interesting and good, I would recommend it!
