i went on a lot of walks during the pandemic lockdown and started noticing a lot of houses with peculiar windows. Like these very specific triangle windows, skinny windows, and teeny tiny attic windows. Have u seen any peculiar-ly shaped windows???

In my dream home I want to have capiz shell windows-- they're lightweight, colorful, and have a slight translucence so light can seep into the room even when they're closed. They're usually more common among older "ancestral homes" in the Philippines, but there's been more modern readaptations of this kind of windows in modern Filipino architecture; while idk how feasible it'd be to have them in the US, I still think they're gorgeous and dreamy <3

This is going to be rambly because I don't have the architectual terminology, but I'm a fan of homes that combine inside and outside. Open windows, covered patios. There are probably better examples of this style, but this scandi one in Seattle that got an NYT write-up is a good example. It's a little too modern for my taste, but this photo really captures the mood I'm going for. I've become more and more intrigued by handmade homes. The Craftsman Builder is an amazing book studying these kind of houses in the West. Quincy Jones' home with its capacious living room and massive window/indoor trees has always spoken to me. Generally I'm happy with lots of wood grain in the interior and I love a low and long midcentury ranch, especially if it's tucked in some ferns.

Rock beaches are so underrated! i went on a trip recently with some friends and almost all the beaches we visited were rock beaches. Crouching down to watch and listen to the ocean wash over a bed of rocks over and over again was so peaceful and reminded me of how small we all are.

Love this thing. Bought it for under $5 and it has two compartments — one that has a lid that flips open from the top and one that fully opens up sideways. I keep my main cards in the lidded compartment and i keep my secondary cards (library card, transit pass, grocery store points cards, etc.) in the second compartment. BONUS is the nice smooth surface that makes it perfect for stickers!!!

This one’s inspired by my partner, who noticed a foxglove growing out of the side of a building as we were walking the other day.
