typing this as i’m sitting on a park bench in the wind but this post has been a long time coming i could probably say the wind is something that has pissed me off more than like anything else or it’s up there at least it’s really my hair in the wind that annoys me and that’s not even related to vanity or anything or how my hair looks blowing about and in my face (partly) but it personally pisses me off to my core to have it pushing my hair around no matter how many time i fix it fringe people will get it but people with like shorter curtain bangs will get me the most cause it’s when one side completely sweeps across your forehead into some hideous messy side fringe hair is one main reason and the other is how much it makes my nose run and honestly i think it affects me more than the average person cause why am i the only one having to constantly blow my nose in public cause of the wind?? on my walk right now i made the dumb rookie mistake of forgetting to bring a tissue out with me so that’s great not suffering at all 😑 definitely doesn’t help when i’m nervous about going out in the first place then the wind just kicks me when i’m down and by kicks i mean beats genuinely cutting my walk short cause of the wind cause i’m so miserable also not fun cause my city is a lot windier than the average place so worse than it could be for reference today it’s 17° but feels like 13°, wind is 19mph with gusts of 34mph but some days it’s way worse don’t be surprised if i add to this with a re rec later

@JONESY i don’t actually know if I do or not but it’s the only thing that explains the immense pining i feel in my chest whenever I hear the wind howling

Wind is awful. This mostly goes for places where it gets cold, and there are specific exceptions – I’m not talking a cool breeze on a hot summer’s day here. ——— It’s winter. You check the temperature – freezing cold but manageable. You step out, fully bundled. So far, so good. But wait! A massive gust of wind blasts you in the face, turning mild discomfort into complete misery, and effectively ruining your life. It’s nearly spring. You’re trying to enjoy the false hope that this mild day will transition smoothly into warmer weather without being pulled back by winter’s long, frigid fingers. Lo! A cold wind picks up, makes your eyes water – a bully mocking you for naively foregoing that extra layer you considered. It’s summer. Unless you’re flying a kite, windsurfing, or otherwise doing some specifically wind-related activity, the wind is mostly annoying as fuck. It blows your picnic items over/away, it thunders in your ears. It’s fall. Basically like spring but the other way around. The wind spitefully reminds you winter is coming again. ——— The adverse physical and mental effects of wind have long been anecdotally and folklorically documented, but several scientific studies have also shown a correlation between wind and hypertension and negative mood – even increases in murder rates. From Lyall Watson’s Heaven’s Breath: A Natural History of the Wind: “In 1968, Willis Miller of California Western University, collected statistics for homicides in Los Angeles county and compared them with weather records. There were 53 days during 1964 and 1965 when the Santa Ana blew and humidity, which is normally around 43 percent, fell below 15 percent. On 34 of those 53 windy days, there were more deaths than normal. And during the longest sustained Santa Ana, which blew from October 20th to 26th in 1965, the total was 47 percent higher than in any other windless week…In California’s early, and to this extent more enlightened days, defendants in crimes of passion were able to plead for leniency, citing the wind as an extenuating circumstance.”

not just breezes (which i love) but also cold, ferocious, howling winds that blow your hat off and chill you to the bone and are just so gloriously crisp and magical! if i wrote poetry it would be about the wind… so much to say!

there’s something so funny about seeing a friend before they notice you cause it’s like a look into what they’re like alone seeing how they walk when they’re by themselves or their expression when they’re just going about or looking around

most of the time it’s internet archive but i’ll take anything (to a point obviously i actually have some standards for illegal websites) i’ve actually been so successfully recently though so try it won’t work really for newer films which obviously makes sense but if you don’t want to pay like £10 for a film that isn’t really on many streaming services then try this and you might win
