I'm a serial offender of "saving things for special moments" that are like once in a blue moon and i forget to use them when the special moment arrives i've started wearing perfume every day after a bout with superstitious when good things would happen to me when i wore my "good luck perfume" heres my conclusion: i fucking love smelling pretty. sue me. i like it here.

@PLAYSTATION I love vanilla in anything. I have a hair oil that’s vanilla rosemary and thyme that I’m in love with. I don’t usually like rose scents but my friend got me a rose perfume that has a lychee base that I actually adore - wby?

@PLAYSTATION Vacation is my favorite fragrance ever for summer! I am a gourmand girl though, i love classic cheapy scents like pink sugar or can can. I’ve also been really into lush by lust, really love the super concentrated real jasmine scent

Obsessed with perfume. For a while I was searching for a signature scent, but then the hunt just became too much fun, and now I’ve ended up with a full on vanity tray in my bathroom piled with a different smell for every mood. I used to wear only China Rain, a rollerball scent my mom got me in high school from a perfumery in LA called Spiritbody. I still have a bottle of that, but when I wear it I’m transported to a more insecure time lol. Right now I love Shadow in the Water from Diptyque for when I want to smell clean and romantic. I wear Smudge by Heretic almost every day because it’s colder out and it makes me feel so warm and cozy, like i’ve been sitting by a fire all day, and like I give good advice and paint landscapes. Perfume is definitely a splurge, but it lasts for so long, and I think it’s really special to have a beautiful scent that people can recognize you by. I am going to gatekeep my secret combination of Byredo perfumes that I wear constantly, and I’m sorry about that. It’s just too good and too me.

it all started with my aunt who has a friend that works at bloomingdale’s and contrabands bottle of testers and pass it on to her to do the trafficking. i’m talking niche fancy stuff for $100 or less. that’s how i ended up with an incredible collection and an addiction that i’m not proud of… but once you get into perfume, it’s like a whole universe unveils in front of your eyes (nose) and there is so much to experience, so much to taste, so much to learn about yourself, your brain and the strangeness of human olfaction. and the association of smell and memory is one of my favorite things, every single perfume i have triggers memories and feelings in a very deep and intense way. i have no interest in having a “signature scent”, life is too short. hop on!

here are some things I've done in my 20s that were a blast: - learned to fly a kite (flying a kite as an adult is the best - i recc doing it at the beach if you can manage it, more wind there) - recreating one of the showstopper bakes from the Great British Bake Off (it absolutely sucked but was really fun haha who knew baking was an exact science?) - bought some blank white shelves and invited all my friends over to paint them - attend a workshop at the library (i went to one that taught me how to pickle vegetables!) - make a perfect summer playlist, burn it on CDs, give it out to friends - make a different kind of lemonade/iced tea every week (i really looked forward to opening my fridge every day when I was doing this) - buy a book of poetry and spend so so so long going through the pages and illustrating the poem in the margins (or doodle whatever) - find a local pizzeria/bar that does open mics and go listen to the performers with some friends (why not? pizza? music? and lots to talk about!) - make shaved ice at home! (or home made ice cream if you're feeling particularly bold) - go listen to your municipal band play at the park - figure out whats in season in your region produce wise and challenge yourself to make dinner just from what you can find at a farmers market or something
h.a.g.s. xoxo
