📚The more I read this book the more I think that everyone should read it. Linguistics is fascinating to me and I know it’s not for everyone, but the author makes it so digestible and I’m just seeing connections between the “typical” way cults attract members and how politicians, main stream media, and corporations communicate/try to brand themselves. It’s smart and entertaining without making light of serious topics. I LOVE IT!!!!

📚I discovered this book over 30 years ago when I was having trouble forgiving a friend for something which, in hindsight, wasn’t that big a deal. But my unforgiveness was killing me and making me into an unbearable person. It’s a channeled book, and claims to be channeled by the historical Jesus. I know that sounds kooky, but it is the single most life-changing book that I have ever read. It completely changed my way of thinking not only about forgiveness but also about reality and the meaning of life. I have never read a book with a voice this absolutely authoritative and egoless at the same time. It’s not for everyone, but I can’t recommend this book highly enough.

Just recently watched this frontier folk horror for the first time. Takes a bit to get going, but the second half is delightfully weird. Couldn't help but see the similarities in David Lynch's style and themes w Twin Peaks in particular (less with the teenagers and more with the trees).

When the news is awful, I want a bit of media that is 1. immediately engrossing and 2. not super stressful. This game is simple but beautiful to look at, pleasant to play, and pretty addictive. It's kind of perfect for resetting your brain when you need to step away from the world for a bit and wind down.
