I always feel so lucky when I get to stroll around my local farmers market where so much fresh produce !! and flowers !! and many beautiful handmade goods are being sold. It’s on our river walk as well so the fresh air and blooms along the path almost light the way. I’ve lived in a lot of places without a sense of community or support for small businesses and the effect is tangible. It’s beautiful on a sunny day to chat with vendors or throw strangers a compliment. Bonus: everyone brings their dogs (adorable!!) !! just puts me in such a good mood 🐛

I love my neighborhood

I’m only a few blocks away from my favorite bakery and a little independent movie theater and so many cool shops and businesses. Very walkable area. The neighborhood park does live music and community events like free weekly yoga. I love the architectural style of all of the houses and they just exude character and charm with their decoration and landscaping. The streets are lined with huge trees. There are long paved paths that go through the neighborhood and people are always out walking their dogs or with their adorable families! Nearly everyone I come across is so friendly and kind. It’s just really nice!!

living in a touristy area

used to really annoy me because every day I walk past this famous view of my city on my daily commute - but one day I realised that people have literally taken flights and spent their hard-earned money just to come and see the view that I get every single day and it completely changed my perspective
now my walk is full of joy, watching families, or couples, or friends all take picture of each other, admire the view, explore the place I take for granted no longer!!
