I introduce myself by a name I was not given at birth. My parents and siblings still call me my birth name which is fine. Fawn emerged from a nickname given to me by classmates (I look like a deer). I used it as my camp counselor name for a while. I loved who I was when I was Fawn. Bad things hadn't happened to her. She grew around my identity and I became Fawn and Fawn became me.

for real though, I've had several names and my deadname and legal name (both different) are not interesting to me or profound in origin. I was gonna be named Avery, which is honestly really cool with me, but another parent they knew who gave birth the same day named their kid Avery first. so they decided to name me something else to be original on the spot. ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿ…๐Ÿ…
so flowers, my current and most recent name... came from a halo machinima series ๐Ÿ’€ he was my favorite character and everyone just started calling me that and it really resonates with me as a name of who I am in vibe. it reminds me of some really great times and people I love. when I use it I feel more connected to who I was then and bridging it with nowย ย

I have come to really appreciate my name. itโ€™s not terribly hard but not super familiar in the u.s. I work in food service. I was sort of recently given a short nickname that stuck. I donโ€™t mind it, first nickname that ppl actually use. Now I offer it to customers if they ask my name. Idk why it feels vulnerable to give ppl my real name. I feel like Iโ€™m protecting a part of myself from strangers by offering the nickname. unnecessary but I am growing fond of it. Now my name feels more intimate. To be used by ppl who know me. By ppl I trust.

my first + middle name is: arabella emerson (no last name hehehe you're not gonna catch me) when i was younger i used to change my name almost every summer. i went to a super woke summer camp that would let you put whatever you wanted on your name tag and so i was bella and onyx and oliver on an on and off roation for about 6 years. eventually i stopped because my mom found out and freaked out about me being trans, so i went back to being arabella for a while, and then in high school people started calling me by my last name (which was cool, but you're still not gonna get me) and then that evolved into me going by emerson, not for any particualr reason, it just sort of happened. my mom had less of an issue with that so i just stuck with it and it's what everyone calls me now. kind of rock with it also because people assume i'm a women less so i'm #showingthepatriarchywhoseboss but TBH with changing my name, you should just do it. like people will attach whatever ideas to your name change even if it's just from kevin--> kev or as jurrastic from kevin-->gabriel so you should just live your life. names are names, i understand the signifgances and nunaces to having certain names, and i would never deny anyone those, but when you change your name, you're not getting rid of the old one, you're just evolving. IMPORTANT: in changing your name, you are not wiping your past you're creating a new future. is that corny?

It is everyone's first time experiencing every moment. Yes there are times you should have known better. Parents could have raised you differently. Friends shouldn't have treated you like that. People could have stayed. But when it comes down to it. We are all children that came from the earth and we will all return to it. Have grace babes!!!!
