MASAHIKO SATO, BELLADONNA

Album rec; 29/05/25 Jazz score for the 1973 movie, Belladonna of Sadness, (the movie is a separate opinion) this is one of my favourite albums everrr Has so many different musical components culminated in a very unique way, works excellently with the movies’ animation(which is maybe the best kind of animation I’ve ever seen in a movie)

The film has so many moments of the most haunting and affecting imagery I’ve ever seen, and beyond that is staying with me in some kind of a sea-change way, which I don’t fully grasp.
