I didn't know the name of this song for decades. Heard it randomly at a gas station and remembered my phone was smarter than me. Then I've been on a years long synth wave kick. New music and old.

This song is one that I have played on repeat around this time of year, every year since I was a teenager. I don't know why it becomes something that I obsessively listen to once a year, but I do know that I love it because it is this blend of melody and precision with memorable lyrics (about communications theory no less). There is something so compelling about the synthpop sound and the way that the lyrics feel unfamiliar, almost imperceptible with their layering harmonies at different points in the song.

Months later I wanted some background noise, I movie id seen a bunch in my teens maybe a little nostalgia sound. Put on Almost Famous and there it is. That โeleven!?โ That for some reason stuck in my head so many years but I couldnโt recall it.
It happened again now, with Mice Parade - Waterslide. I had the twinkling piano and odd time guitar and energetic drums somewhere in the back of my brain, mushed but recognizable you know? And went to listen to some Do Make Say Think and what is recommended next?

Anyway, made me happy.

theres a slight nostalgia and yearning whenever this plays, especially when I drive. It evokes a feeling of constantly needing to be around my friends but at the same time i kinda wanna ride my bike around an army base (thanks luca), share my straw with him and put my face by a cold gate.

That's not an exact quote... But yeah we had him explain more. That stronger and more intelligent humans are conceived in a way the government and clergy are against. Because the normal way makes more compliant citizens.

๐I'm not a conventionally handsome or even good looking guy. lol I can admit it I'm comfortable being me. Mostly cuz years ago a well dressed older pretty lady with a thick Tennesse accent said "Boy, the girls that know are gonna eat you up."
