Totally unoriginal story, abismal acting, but my gosh, some of the best martial arts choreography i’ve ever seen. every fighter has a different fighting style, which is clarified in the credits. It’s a great time if you wanna see non-stop action, no cgi. i love it

dir. Joseph Kuo The editing in this film is piss-poor. However, the fight scenes are some of the most tightly choreographed in the Hong Kong canon. They’re a true feast for the eyes. Plus the villain, The Ghost Faced Killer, is one of the baddest dudes to ever grace the screen. Do check it out.

An incredible, genre-defying film from Johnnie To that uses Judo as the philosophical foundation for its story of three people looking for more out of life. You see them thrown to the ground repeatedly in its 95 mins, but more than anything, it's a film about the importance of getting back up. Over, and over, and over. It features a deftly hidden twist and a couple incredibly dynamic sequences (the arcade scene and the night club centerpiece) that I had to rewind and watch again. Outstanding cinematography and inventive choreography in almost every scene, whether it's 4 conversations woven together at once or a 1-on-1 Judo match in the tall grass.

Terrible acting, cheesy 80s montages, absolutely 0 plot…but a buff Belgian guy is doing the splits for half the movie.

I feel like there’s such pressure for creatives of all types to “make a name for themselves”, constantly be promoting and using all the right hashtags. Who cares? What if you just wanna make paintings for fun without monetary gain or fame in mind? What if you wanna make youtube videos just as a personal diary instead of becoming a “content creator” or “influencer”? What if you just enjoy making logos instead of wanting to be a career freelance designer who spends every waking moment keeping up to date on design trends? Maybe your goal is to make money and become popular for your art, and that’s great, go for it! But I think it’s just as valid to enjoy art for arts sake, and not feel a need to worry about posting it consistently and appeasing your followers.

Best cherry drink, you might like it even if you don’t like cherry flavor! Real sugar too!
