a very eccentric old woman in rural poland tries to explain to her fellow villagers that the murders happening around them are the revenge of mistreated animals, if only anyone would listen! so idiosyncratic and funny, plays with unreliable narrators and mystery tropes and makes you think about the sanctity of life in all its forms

i only recently read this, but i think it’s become one of my favs! dark feminism, mystery, hypocrisy of tradition…i really enjoyed it! it’s written well, has a good balance of tones and had a very fun ending 10/10!

This was honestly one of the saddest books I've ever read. I'm not going to spoil too much for you, but essentially it's a reflection of the life of a serial killer on death row told through the perspectives of women he'd interacted with throughout his life. Super sad, super well written, bawled my eyes out multiple times. If you liked the Lovely Bones, you'll like this one too, it has a very similar feel. If you haven't read the Lovely Bones, read that first because it was actually the saddest book I've ever read.
Love crying over books man, it really gets you feeling human ❤

i struggle sometimes to make myself clean when tired, sad, etc - enter one clorox wipe. no matter how low you feel or how big the mess it will always be an improvement to just take ten measly seconds and run one clorox wipe over the counter, or the sink, or your nightstand. one clorox wipe sometimes gives me the get-up-and-go for more tasks, but even if it doesn’t it always at least leaves things a little better than before
