HOT TAKE! I know I prob need to go touch grass for being as annoyed as I am right now, but I just was having a discussion with my friend and her gf about how it is wrong that everyone is mad at Billie Eilish and Clairo for dating men. My friends explained that they were mad because both singers have profited off of making sapphic songs but rarely, if ever, have had a publicly queer relationship. They said they see it as them choosing to date men because it’s “easier” and bc being queer isn’t as profitable as it once was. That take just rubs me the wrong way because, in my eyes, you are still a bisexual woman even if you only date men throughout your whole life. If you feel sexual attraction to more than one gender, that means you are bi. No bisexual person should have to prove to the world that they are bisexual. Who are we to expect a certain relationship out of people?

Being a bi woman really feels like the same trap as trying to get employed without experience lol

i think more bisexual people should try being nice and normal to lesbians. there is just so much energy from our community being wasted on complaining about how hard it is to be a woman with a (cis and/or het) boyfriend. Actually, it’s fine. just leave him at home sometimes

More specifically with queerness and lukewarm acceptance. Listen I get that change takes time but brother if you’ve already accepted the fact that I’m gay then the rest shouldn’t be a problem, but why is it still a problem

i was at the beach recently seeing my little brother (not by blood, but by the sweat and tears of the hospitality industry) and he’s much younger than me and very straight-white-boy. and i am very NOT that. but we out here building COALITIONS okay?!!!!! and one of his younger friends (a literal child to me) was like, ”yeah man you should pick up golf!!! it’s not always about how good you are but it’s fun to spend time with homies and sometimes it’s mad beautiful with the nature and sunsets, i know that’s kinda gay”
and my head almost did a full 360 rotation, but i was like this poor kid thinks APPRECIATING THE NATURAL WORLD FROM WHENCE HE CAME IS “GAY” (DEROGATORY) so low key i felt bad for him!!!! this is my patience and wisdom showing.
so with perfect comedic timing, i hit em with the “if that’s gay i don’t wanna be straight” and they both CACKLED (i am like a visibly gay person and my lil brother knows i’m gay and a vocally radically leftist lunatic) and they both kinda tilted their heads and were like “yeah good point” and i think it’s little moments like this that can soften people’s perception and opinions. sometimes ppl should be very ashamed of their behaviors, thoughts, actions. but most of the time when we want people to think differently, shame will do the exact opposite.
ANYWAY love y’all xoxoxoxoxo hope everyone is a little gay today (admires all the beauty this world has to offer) 😘😘😘😘

You don't always have to be doing something productive or creative. Sometimes it is okay to just take a step back and exist.

I've posted about this once before and will post about it again, I'm sure. One of the things that I have noticed since getting letterboxed last year is how afraid people are to admit they like something. that new animated k-pop movie on netflix made me notice this again when three of the people that I have on there prefaced their reviews with a variant of "i consumed this ironically, but it was actually kind of good..." ...LAME... and a little bit pathetic to see tbh. We really need to remember that you only live once. just fucking enjoy the stuff you like, and stop asking the world for permission and acceptance to do so! being so afraid of what others will think when you post a review under a kid's movie is more cringe than admitting you like a kid's movie.
