what else are you gonna do while your water is boiling and onions are caramelizing. top choices include baby carrots, cherry tomatoes, cucumber slices, bell peppers, and edamame. stand vacantly in front of the stove and shove em in.

Sure, some need to be peeled, de-seeded and processed in other ways but many of those are habitual and completely optional. It often also saves time and work to not do these things!
Here are some examples: - eating strawberry leaves - scrubbing root vegetables under running water instead of peeling - steaming/frying leaves of radishes - not peeling kiwi - snacking on broccoli stems (delicious)
