For weeks after I finished this book for the first time I would think about it every five minutes. Iโ€™d be walking around the city and everything/everyone would be glaringly vibrant, beauty and ugliness coexisting and screaming. Everything pulsated with life in an almost uncomfortable way. Sheโ€™s a freaky genius. This book honestly changed the way I see the world.

This one isnt that long but it took me months because some of the grief and experiences he writes about are so raw and his writing would leave me so breathless I would have to keep taking breaks and have to set the book down for a few days. Never read anything so heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time.

i've never finished a book so fast in my life. she writes about life and grief in such an intimate way and i could honestly reread it forever. the opening lines are "Life changes fast.ย Life changes in the instant. You sit down to dinner and life as you know it ends." which, even on its own, is just wow

i love willow trees and have a bittersweet memory with them. In the first grade there was a willow tree in the backyard in my school and my class adopted it, we would give it hugs and have class sitting in a big circle around it. One day we went over to the tree as per usual but it was being taken down!!! In front of us!! It was devastating but Iโ€™ll always remember it :(
specifically the ones that hang over water, like when they hang over a river or a canal. LOVE!
