As someone who *loves* the 80’s and 90’s and even modern stuff it has to be the 70’s anyways lol.. I could rattle off names all fucking day and wouldn’t even be half close to done. My only regret would be that you only get the first cure album but I think I can live with it.. Springsteen to Eno to Rundgren to Clapton to Yes… Bowie and Kraftwerk and Roxy Music… I have to cut myself off because I haven’t even gotten into metal or jazz… it keeps getting more ridiculous. Again my only complaint is that you miss out on most goth stuff but I’ll live I think

(the Bowie cover from the 90s) is excellent, but I’ve done nothing but listen to the Modern Lovers since my move to New York even if they’re more Boston. Had a realization that punk rock ranges in quality, but proto-punk from garage rock is great and post-punk is great.

The good and the bad! I did it in '22 with Pink Floyd, currently going through Lou Reed. Prince is next.

I generally don’t like greatest hits albums, but this is one I’ve always gravitated to, mainly because it only has songs from my favorite era of the Stones, the 60s to the beginning of the 70s, rather than being a standard big retrospective compilation. Been giving it a lot of play this past week. Now I feel like firing up some Aftermath or Between The Buttons!

My god everything is experienced better this way. Stop looking at guides, walkthroughs, endings explained (my least favorite), even the blurbs on the back. Such a rare opportunity in this time to go into something without knowing anything about it, yet so rewarding. To be pleasantly surprised or blown away, to have no idea what’s happening, to find that you really didn’t like it, an opinion formed on your own.. nothing is more valuable
