a classic in the world of queer lit. the pdf is linked - free online from hir website. for another title exploring tgnc+ identities you could check out gender queer by maia kobabe. personally i don’t plan to re-read it ever bc i‘m not big on memoirs but it was interesting to read since it’s a graphic novel and a banned book. transgender history by susan stryker is also great (nonfic). you already mentioned this is how you lose the time war but some other fiction-ish queer titles i like are - crush, carmilla*, life of the party. i’m currently halfway through reading the femme mystique (anthology) and i’m obsessed. (it’s nonfiction but that’s what i typically read!)

As young people who long for real, honest relationships with other people, it’s easy to overshare in order to instantly create emotional intimacy. The problem is that this intimacy is artificial, and doesn’t respect the principle that relationships are differentiated in large part because different levels of emotional intimacy are reserved for different *kinds* of relationships

Domestic narratives + focus on description + mind-numbing ”lyrical” prose = readers who focus on the *form* of literature and not its power to confront, protest, disrupt, and generally expand our understanding of the real world, where there’s social and economic evil around every corner
