yes, we all recognize āsomebody that I used to know,ā but not enough appreciation is given to this wonderful gem that sounds like youāre crying whilst riding a camel and wistfully smoking a ciggie. so much is going on in this song and itās powerful from both an emotional and compositional standpoint. the lyrics ālove aināt safe, you wonāt get hurt if you stay chasteā are so beautifully painful and I deeply appreciate music that can completely tear me apart with such eloquence.

I heard a lot of love songs yesterday, or some mixes at least interpreting love and Valentineās Day and the like. This came on in the car and brought tears to my eyes. Love can be thick and sweeping, and surviving so much. Sometimes itās like youāre alone in it all unless you remember to look at each other and live out the end of this world together.

the lyrics are everything. heartbreak, palpable wistfulness and anger all bundled up into 3 minutes and 37 seconds.
the verses "look me in the eye and tell me you don't find me attractive" and "look me in the eye and promise no love's like our love" destroy me every time i hear them and i welcome the crushing weight of those words with each listen.
