ok ngl I am NOT an analog horror girly, like the jumpscare aspect plus unreality of it all kinda gets me. however! I do love hearing ppl explain the lore for analog horror projects and seeing the love put into them :) like i haven't seen the entirety of the local 58 webseries but this one video i willingly watched and it is SO good and haunting I used it as a source for a essay in my college's freshman year conspiracy theories class
in regards to the "watching ppl explain analog horror" i would reccomend watching either the og monument mythos webseries analog horror projects OR wendigoon's explanation of it, bc mm is SO eerie and wacky and kinda funny at times and just a very well done piece of media.
also if u want a more mainstream answer i would reccomend the movie the fly (1986)

For religious/possession shit I like: the omen The first omen Possession The devils doorway Dark waters (90s one) The others (idk kind of Counts) The house of the dead The conjuring series (avoid the like Annabelle spin offs and the one called something like the devil made me do it)
Horror movie docs are also a great way to learn about the different genres and stuff my favorites are:
In search of darkness (the first installment - you gotta stream it on like a sketchy site I don’t think it’s anywhere else) Eli Roths history of horror cursed films Horror 101 Woodlands dark and days bewitched

ok 2024 was freaky, but i loved it cause it about sm more than just monster romance even if so many people wanna label it as such. theres countless motifs to art history and all classic gothic literature (mainly cause duh vampires are the epitome of gothic romance and literature). but watch this video, i am watching it at work rn they’ve got their evidence.
