🕰They’re in their 80s and they’ve been together since they were 15 and 16.
My grandmother described running into my grandfathers arms at the train station, when he’d have weekends off in the raf, as heavenly and I have to deal with men in their 20s who still use Snapchat and repost tiktoks about “fine shyt” and “bops”.
There is no quality of life in yearning for a time you didn’t exist in but where do we draw the line.

🦗friendly reminder to check in on them if you have the capacity and a good relationship with them. i've been calling my grandma every other week since my grandpa passed and she's just happy to talk to someone and that someone thinks about her. i live far from her and i can't always visit but i'm just hoping these phone calls become an 'us' thing for her.

đź‘“I love seeing how people older to me dress. Esecially if they're around my grandparents' age. I totally check them out at bus stops, banks, supermarkets etc. etc. There's accounts of this theme that I also follow on IG, of the Chinatown elders and the Italian elders.
