i think it’s been like 5 years since i last baked a cake (or anything tbh) but that used to be my favorite thing to do… i need to tap back into freedom of being 14 years old and not having anything to do on weekends but bake some random shit

Leaving it out on your counter to graze on is so lovely. It’s one of those things that makes me remember that I am an adult with free will and I can do whatever I want including making an elaborate Bundt cake.

in 2020, i decided i ::needed:: to learn how to make and frost a layer cake at home. i ordered the piping tools and cake spinner, watched YouTube videos, practiced my technique to get the perfect crumb and frosting texture. fast forward to when we could finally safely gather in person, cooking and baking just felt better when i did it for others. especially making special birthday cakes, like this one here—chocolate cake with brown butter frosting and naturally dyed sprinkles.

these last few months, I’ve been really into baking, intricate tiered cakes. I’m just kind of figuring it out as I go along. I’ve been making my friends cakes for their birthday. This is the most recent one I made. I’m trying to keep it as a fun, hobby and not monetize it like I do with all my other hobbies lol

fell in love with another pop artist at the museum today. she uses casts of her face in so many of her sculptures and i think it’s so personal in like an abstract way that speaks to the soul. #idk i’m just a pop art fan

i don’t care what we’re doing. we could be sipping tea together. reading on two separate ends of the couch. hiking in silence. just existing and being together
