Yes its about propaganda but its also about love and hate and hope and sex and fear and everything else. If you haven't read it you probably should. Like most dystopian novels its a bit of a downer but I found solace in the fact that the world of 2025 is not quite as hopeless as the world of 1984.

"People have told me that Feed is coming true. (Many of the technologies I discussed have been explored in recent years.) But in a sense, I believe it already was the reality when I was writing. I was already dreaming in advertisements." YA (oldstyle YA, not condescending or sanitized) dystopian social media satire. Incredibly fucking sad.

The granddaddy to all cyberpunk media, and incredibly prescient given our current moment. Coined the term โ€œCyberspaceโ€. Gibson wrote this on a typewriter in the canadian wilderness in 1984. It was his first novel. I finished it in 4 days after kicking it around for years. immediately moved on to the sequel. Honestly prescient doesnโ€™t even begin to describe how accurately this book predicted our present, and its future.

Very much an awful view of native people, but a very interesting dystopian society novel. It had me hooked the whole time. I devoured it.
